babyvelsbakes is a self-taught service for homemade cakes and bakes. Founded in 2016, it was initially a friend and family service that has grown into a family of cake lovers and a platform to celebrate every occasion whether it be a birthday or a need for a sweet treat.

Welcome to babyvelsbakes. Our name is inspired from a childhood nickname (Baby Vel) and the venture started as a hobby. The love of baking grew from childhood memories making banana bread at the weekend, combined with the creative freedom of making new designs for every special occasion..

Over the course of a year, the babyvelsbakes family grew from close friends to a network of over 450 lovers of blueberry banana bread, brownies and personalised cakes. All of the baking is done at home and during the first year was usually juggled alongside studying for my second year at college. Regardless of every mis-shaped cookie, sunken cake and split buttercream (which didn't make the cut), all of the smiles at collection made every minute spent worth it.

Thanks to CodeFirst: Girls, as a team of three, we (Maxine, Julia and Antigoni) were able to create this babyvelsbakes website, which we all hope you enjoy as much as we did creating it.
